Pink is the New Black

Spring has sprung and with it comes the re-emergence of Pink! From fashion, to beauty, to paint, to upholstery, Pink is popping up everywhere.  Now, I have always been a huge fan of this feminine hue but recently I have become OBSESSED!

If you think its just a fad, pay attention! Pink will not only take over your wardrobe, but your home as well.  Not since the 80's have we been craving Pink in our homes... suddenly remember a  shade of Mauve on your parents' bedroom walls growing up? And those 50's "Pepto Pink" bathroom tiles look good again when updated with Satin Brass fixtures and accessories.

I've incorporated Pink in my own home, painting a Guest Room with Benjamin Moore's "Pampas Grass".  The modern Blush hue is feminine but grown up paired with White bedding and a cowhide rug.  Off of the Guest Room is the Laundry Room where the paint color carries through, because what girl wouldn't want a Pink Laundry Room? Not only did I put Pink on walls, but also purchased Pink linen sheets (see Stanbery Guest Room) for a second bedroom and I'm currently drooling over the idea of Fuchsia accent chairs.

So as the days get warmer and you not only start to drink Pink but feel Pink, you just may find one of those pretty posh shades make its way into your home too. After all, Pink is the New Black... or in my case White.
